Furnished in soothing blue and white hues, Firefly Beach House combines the best of both worlds, whether you are looking for a great place to unwind after a day at the beach, on the boat, or the golf course; or after skiing and snowmobiling.
If getting out and about is more your style, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to shop and dine in the unique downtown galleries and establishments just a short distance away. You might also view the freighters from the lighthouse pier a half block stroll away.
Manistee is located near Traverse City and Interlochen. It is a growing community with things
to do in summer, fall, and winter. The Little River Casino is only six miles north of Manistee.
From the moment you turn west on River Street it becomes clear that Manistee is a special place. The entire downtown shopping district is listed on the Natonal Register of Historic Places. River Street features an eclectic mix of retail shops, galleries, antique stores, and restaurants. Enjoy the 1.5 mile Manistee Riverwalk. Winding along the picturesque Manistee River channel, the Riverwalk is a popular attraction for locals and tourists alike. Witnessing a 700-foot Great Lakes freighter navigate the narrow Manistee River Channel is an experience that is truly unique to downtown Manistee. Manistee offers a variety of cultural arts, concerts, plays, dance performances, and exhibits offered year-round in the magnificently restored 100-year old Ramsdell Theatre.
Along River Street, you will see small shops in restored historic buildings, an ice cream shop, riverside restaurants, antique stores, gift shops, City Marina,  bakeries, nautical and unusual gifts.

Downtown Manistee and Manistee County restaurants offer the best Friday Fish Fry dinners in Michigan year-round.  Of course you could catch and prepare your own fish (in season).  See our "Fishing Capital" website.  Fishing is allowed on the Riverwalk.

Trolley Tours:  Hourly Tours of the City of Manistee are available May thru September - Hail the trolley as it goes by, or at the terminal - on Memorial Drive.  The tour will include downtown Manistee, and historic homes, beaches and Orchard Beach State Park.  A great way to become acquainted with Manistee.

Sail into Downtown Manistee by way of the Manistee River Channel and dock at one of the beautiful marinas.  The Water Bug (boat) gives guided tours down the River Channel with signed stops along the way to pick up customers.
